His Holiness Patriarch Kirill sends greetings to Primates of Oriental Churches celebrating Easter on April 12

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ sent greetings to the heads of the Oriental Churches that celebrated Easter on 12^th April 2026. Among his addressees were His Holiness Patriarch Tawadros II of the Coptic Orthodox Church; His Holiness Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, head of the Syrian Orthodox Church; His Holiness Patriarch Abune Mathias of Ethiopia; and His Holiness Patriarch Abune Basilios of Eritrea.

The letter reads, in particular:

“I cordially greet you on the radiant Feast of Holy Pascha with this ancient church salutation: CHRIST IS RISEN!

“The Resurrection of our Saviour from the dead is the triumph of life over death, light over darkness, grace and righteousness over sin and lawlessness. On this chosen and holy day, we give ardent praise to God, glorified in the Trinity, for the imperishable and blessed eternity granted unto us, for, as the Holy Apostle Paul writes, as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive (1 Cor 15:22).”

His Holiness wished to the Primates of the Oriental Churches good health, spiritual peace and abundant help from the Lord Jesus in their further lofty service.
