DECR chairman meets with Church of England representative

On 3rd April 2026, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, met with Canon Dr Leslie Nathaniel, Archdeacon of the East and of Germany and Northern Europe of the Church of England Diocese in Europe, who had arrived in Moscow on a pastoral visit.
Taking part in the meeting were also Archpriest Igor Vyzhanov, DECR Deputy Chairman; Hieromonk Stefan (Igumnov), DECR Secretary for Inter-Christian Relations; and Ms Nicolette Kirk, church warden of St. Andrew’s Anglican Parish in Moscow.
The participants in the meeting discussed various topics pertaining to current relations between the two Churches.
