Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk meets with Russian Ambassador to Lebanon

On 24th August 2026, at the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, DECR Chairman, met with Mr Alexander Rudakov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Lebanese Republic.
Among the topics discussed during the meeting were relations between the peoples of Russia and Lebanon and the role of inter-Orthodox, inter-Christian and interfaith cooperation in furthering these good relations.
The participants in the meeting also discussed activities of the Russian Orthodox Church’s Metochion in Beirut, which will celebrate its 80th anniversary this year.
