Hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia celebrate Divine Liturgy at Gornei Convent

On 12th August, the day of seventy apostles Silas, Silvanus, Crisces, Epaenetus and Andronicus and the martyr Saint John the Warrior, the metropolitan of Berlin and Germany Mark (Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia) headed the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of All Saints of Russia at the Gornei Convent Ein-Karem.
Concelebrating with metropolitan Mark were: the auxiliary bishop of the diocese of the bishop of Stuttgart Job, the head of the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem under ROCOR archimandrite Roman (Krasovsky), inmate of the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem hieromonk Pyotr (Borodulin), cleric of the Gornei Convent Father Viktor Klinshov, clerics of the German diocese and the Russian Spiritual Mission in Jerusalem under ROCOR and pilgrims in priestly rank.
Praying at the service were the mother superior of the Gornei Convent in Ein-Karem abbess Yekaterina (Chernysheva) with the sisters and numerous pilgrims fr om the diocese of Germany.
The service was held in Church Slavonic and German. The hymns for the Divine Liturgy were sung by the sisters of the Gornei Convent, reports the website of the Russian Spiritual Mission.
After the Litany of Fervent Supplication metropolitan Mark read a prayer for the granting of peace.
After the communion verse the bishop of Stuttgart Job delivered a homily to those gathered.
At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy there was a monastic repast during which the choir of sisters sang spiritual hymns. Metropolitan Mark addressed greetings to the clergy and sisters of the convent.
After the meal the hierarchs, clergy, sisters and pilgrims formed a procession and headed for the Church of Our Lady of Kazan at the Gornei Convent wh ere the metropolitan of Berlin and Germany Mark and the clergy who had served with him venerated the Kazan icon of the Most Holy Mother of God. Then abbess Yekaterina spoke to all those gathered on the topic of the history of the Kazan church and the feast day known as ‘The Kiss’.
