Dean of the metochion of the Russian Church in Sofia concelebrates with the Patriarch of Bulgaria on the feast day of the Dormition of the Mother of God

On 15^th August the day when the Bulgarian Orthodox Church celebrates according to the New Calendar the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God, His Holiness the Patriarch of Bulgaria and Metropolitan of Sofia Daniel headed the Divine Liturgy in the Dormition Church in the city of Kyustendil.

Concelebrating with His Holiness the Patriarch were the bishop of Velbuzhd Isaac, the second auxiliary bishop to the metropolitan of Sofia and deputy to the deanery of Kyustendil, the rector of the metochion of the Russian Orthodox Church in Sofia archpriest Vladimir Tyschuk and the clergy of the metropolitanate of Sofia, reports the metochion website.

After the dismissal at the Divine Liturgy a service of thanksgiving with blessing of koliva was held, after which His Holiness the Patriarch in his sermon congratulated the numerous faithful who had gathered for the service on the occasion of the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God.

At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy the Primate of the Bulgarian Church blessed water and breads on the central square of Kyustendil.
