To: His Eminence

Your Graces the archpastors, esteemed fathers, dear brothers and sisters,
Allow me to convey to you my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the great consecration of the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in the city of Pyong.
It is through Divine Providence that in the region of the capital Chonbek in the Peoples’ Democratic Republic of Korea that a beautiful church building has been constructed. This church has become the centre of the spiritual life Orthodox believers who live in the land of Korea. With gratitude we now recall the late chairman of the state defense committee of North Korea Kim Jong Il, Hero of Russia Andrei Gennadievich Karlov who tragically died when serving as diplomat, and the late ambassador Alexander Ivanovich Matsegoru, all of whom had made such a valuable contribution to the construction of the house of God.
It is a joy to note that at present embassy to the Peoples’ Democratic Republic of Korea is endeavouring to preserve the good traditions laid down by their predecessors in giving all possible aid to the parish of the Trinity Church.
I am sincerely grateful to the clergy, members of the Orthodox committee of the Peoples’ Democratic Republic of Korea and all of you, dear brothers and sisters, for your labours, your zealous faith, steadfast concern for the beauty of the Church and witness to Christ in the land of Korea.
I prayerfully wish you all strength of body and soul, God’s abundant aid and success in your further ministry in the cause of the Holy Orthodox faith.
I invoke God’s blessing upon you all.
