Metropolitan Christopher of Czech Lands and Slovakia visits diocese of Mukachevo and Uzhgorod

His Beatitude Christopher, Metropolitan of the Czech Lands and Slovakia, visited the diocese of Mukachevo and Uzhgorod on August 8, 2010.

On the commemoration day of St. Moses Ugrin at the Monastery of St. Nicholas in Mukachevo, Metropolitan Christopher celebrated the Divine Liturgy assisted by Archbishop Theodore of Mukachevo and Uzhgorod and 40 local clergy.

After the service, a procession with the cross was held, carrying St. Moses Ugrin’s relics which have reposed at the monastery since 1996.

The ruling bishop of Mukachevo diocese greeted His Beatitude and presented him with a pectoral icon. His Beatitude Christopher thanked him for sharing in prayer and gave the monastery a vessel made of Bohemian cut crystal for blessing fruits.
