Church Post-graduate School honoured with a lecture of famous church historian

Prof. Dr. Mikhail Shkarovsky of St. Petersburg University visited Sts Cyril and Methodius Church Post-graduate School on March 25, 2010. He was welcomed by the Academic Council secretary A. Mramornov, who said in particular, ‘Special attention to the historical fact and correct analysis are characteristic of your work. Without a study of the modern church history and especially your works it is difficult today to avoid mistakes in church life as well’.

Prof. Shkarovsky gave a lecture on Problems of Research into the History of the Russian Orthodox Church in the 20^th Century, and answered questions from post-graduate students and undergraduates.

In conclusion of the meeting, there was a presentation of Prof. Shkarovsky’s book ‘The Russian Orthodox Church in the 20th Century’ which came out in the Veche Publishers.
